Scientific name: Anthophyta: Dicotyledonae: Rosales: : Amelanchier arborea Common Name: Shadbush Country: USA Photographer: E. M. Barrows Identifier: E. M. Barrows
Additional Information: This tree tends to flower when Shad swim up the Potomac River as part of their spawning. This tree flowered about 1 week later than other Shadbushes in the area, perhaps because cool breezes from the Potomac River slowed its floral development.
