      The Corporal Skimmer is named after its creamy white shoulder stripes.   This species is native to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia south through Florida and west through eastern Kansas and eastern Texas (Dunkle 1989, page 78).   Scores of Corporal Skimmers flew in the Parkin Pond area on 24 June 2001.
